Terms of Service

TramEasy — last updated 10 June 2026

Acceptance

By installing or using TramEasy (the “app”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What TramEasy is

TramEasy is a free, unofficial app that shows estimated real-time positions and arrival times for Melbourne trams. It is provided as a convenience and an informational aid only.

Not official; not affiliated

TramEasy is an independent, unofficial app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Yarra Trams, Public Transport Victoria (PTV), the Victorian Government, or any transit authority. Tram positions and predictions are derived from publicly available data sources (TramTracker and PTV GTFS).

Estimates may be inaccurate — do not rely on the app for time-critical decisions

All tram positions, arrival times, and predictions shown in the app are estimates. They are generated from third-party data feeds that can be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect, and from modelling that approximates a tram's location between updates. Predictions may be wrong, missing, or out of date.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, that data will be accurate, or that the service will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TramEasy and its operator are not liable for any loss, damage, missed services, or inconvenience arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its data. Nothing in these terms excludes any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including by attempting to disrupt the service, scrape or overload the servers, reverse-engineer the app for malicious purposes, or use it in any way that breaks the law.

Third-party data and services

The app relies on third-party data (TramTracker, PTV GTFS) and services (such as OpenStreetMap map tiles and Cloudflare). These are governed by their own terms, and their availability and accuracy are outside our control.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time. We may also update these terms; if we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
